Objective and Scope of NAT

National Aptitude Test (NAT) has been evolved under the expertise of the SAHEI to cater to the needs of the Higher Education system in India. Diverse range of requirements of various Institutions and student community has led to the formalization of National Aptitude Test (NAT). The objective of conducting the test are as under:

To determine a merit list for selection of candidates by the prospective Institutions at the UG and PG levels separately

To facilitate the attributes of a Common Entrance Test to the aspiring candidates

To provide a listing of Institutions seeking candidates with appropriate skills on a common platform

To do away with the candidates' agony of appearing for multiple entrance tests of individual institutions

To facilitate a common test at the national level for endorsement by the Government as a third party at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level

To provide a country wide, fair, transparent, valid, authenticated opportunity to candidates at a very reasonable cost

To make common testing popular and a standard medium

To provide services to Institutions for serving their entrance examination requirements

To offer expert, qualitaive, stat-of-the-art services across the country rather than limiting the operations in nearby areas of the Institutions

To allow informed choice making to the students
